Beekeeping Courses

Thinking about Keeping Bees:

We offer a taster day. encompassing all the roles of a beekeeper, to allow you to decide if it is a hobby you wish to pursue. You will be provided with all necessary equipment for the day, you just bring yourself!

The day will include opening a hive and inspecting the colony at work. You will learn to identify the different castes of bee and find out their roles in the colony. You will learn the lifecycle of a colony, and the time investment required to keep bees.

The Day Courses run from April to August each year. Simply contact us to book a day or obtain further information.

Beginner Courses:

If you are seriously thinking about keeping bees, but do not know where to start!

This course consists of two introductory days and an option for continued mentoring as you establish your own colonies.All equipment will be provided for the two days with us, and courses can be arranged any time from April through to August.

You will learn all the elements of successful beekeeping from establishing a nucleus to managing the bees through honey flows and trouble shooting the most common problems. We will also demonstrate how to process all hive products. ( Honey, Wax, Propolis )
